This is a classic picture. You see the motive at any exhibition. It reflects movement, anonymousity: Who are these people? Where do they come from? Where are they going?
I kind of like the motive, it is always a little intriguing. A similiar motive is common in movies. You always have this shot to situate the audience and usually to reflect crowds, stress and anymousity.
This picture was taken March 30th, on Good Friday, at about 10 pm. In El Paseo de Carmen, Sta. Tecla, part of Metropolitan San Salvador. It is a very busy walking street during normal weekends. But these persons were practically the only ones we saw on Good Friday.
My mother painted a picture with a similar motive. She calls it “Stress“. I don´t find her picture very stressful, neither my photo. Perhaps – stressed – by the warm colours.
My mother´s picture was the favorite of the journalist who wrote about the exhibition where the painting was exhibited.
He seems to like the motive as well.
